We are on track to significantly transform the later living experience in the UK, with a commitment to expanding our portfolio to 34 retirement villages—equating to around 5,000 age-appropriate homes for retirees.
The Audit & Compliance Analyst plays a key role in supporting the Audit and Compliance Team by conducting compliance monitoring, internal audits, and data protection activities. Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit and Compliance, the role leverages data-driven methods to assess compliance, analyse risks, and enhance operational processes. Key responsibilities include maintaining compliance registers, contributing to audits, and developing real-time compliance dashboards.

The Role:
Compliance Monitoring and Internal Audits
- Support the planning and execution of the annual compliance monitoring and internal audit programme
- Perform fieldwork, risk-based testing, and evidence reviews
- Conduct audits and reviews across regulatory and operational areas
- Deliver clear, actionable audit findings that drive process improvements
- Analyse operational and compliance data to identify gaps, trends, and emerging risks
- Monitor and support the timely closure of audit findings, working collaboratively with business teams to enhance internal controls
- Contribute to the development of real-time compliance assurance by enhancing frameworks and conducting control testing
Data Protection Compliance Support
- Assist with ongoing GDPR compliance, including maintaining Records of Processing Activities (RoPA) and monitoring adherence to privacy policies
- Support data protection operations such as handling Subject Access Requests (SARs) and maintaining incident documentation
- Monitor compliance with data protection policies across the organisation
- Track policy adherence across departments and help embed data protection controls into business-as-usual processes
Policy and Governance Framework Maintenance
- Maintain the organisation’s central policy register and support regular review, updating, and communication of compliance policies
- Ensure policies are current, consistent, and aligned with regulatory and operational requirements
- Review policies for clarity, relevance, and practical implementation
- Collaborate with business units to strengthen policy adherence
- Assist in embedding compliance frameworks into daily operations
- Support ongoing GDPR compliance activities, including RoPA accuracy, breach logging, and SAR tracking
Data-Driven Compliance Insights
- Lead the collection and analysis of compliance monitoring data to generate meaningful insights
- Develop and maintain dashboards and management reports, translating assurance outcomes into actionable insights for operational teams and senior leaders
- Use data analytics to track risk trends, uncover weaknesses, and inform real-time assurance
- Identify emerging risks, gaps, and patterns to support proactive decision-making
- Assist in producing monthly and quarterly compliance reports for senior management and external stakeholders
- Help foster a culture of compliance through data-driven storytelling and performance reporting
Key Requirements:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks, audit methodologies, and/or data protection principles (training available if required)
- Experience supporting compliance monitoring, internal audits, or governance activities (gained through academic or professional settings)
- Awareness of GDPR requirements and practical aspects of data protection compliance
- Interest in developing skills in data-driven compliance reporting (experience with Power BI is an advantage)
- Strong enthusiasm for governance, compliance, risk management, and data protection
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Business, Governance, Risk, Data Analytics, or a related field.
